Our Installation Standard
What a professional siding installation includes
Siding is your home's raincoat. Whatever material you choose, these are the details we build into every Noblewood siding job, because they are what keep water out of your walls through decades of Ottawa freeze-thaw.
- Continuous weather-resistive barrier. House wrap lapped shingle-style, top over bottom, so any water that gets behind the siding always runs out, never in.
- Head flashing and drip caps over every window and door, so water is kicked out over the trim instead of running behind it.
- Kick-out and step flashing wherever a roof meets a wall, one of the most common hidden leak points on Ottawa homes.
- Manufacturer-spec fastening and gapping. Siding has to expand and contract between Ottawa's hot summers and deep-freeze winters. Nails driven too tight or joints with no room to move lead to buckling and cracks.
- Proper clearances above grade, decks, roofs and masonry so siding never sits in water or snow.
- Flashed, sealed penetrations. Lights, vents, taps and hose bibs go on mounting blocks, not just caulk.
- Sheathing inspection. When old siding comes off, we check the wall underneath and show you any moisture damage before it's covered up.
